While finishing my MSc program last year (2020), I was confused and didn’t know what was next after so many failed applications. So I applied for a PhD position at my Lab (which had just moved from SJTU to Zhejiang University) even though I didn’t want to stay back in China. Unfortunately, it didn’t come through. I had no explanation for what went wrong because I had everything sorted out. I had to cut contact with my lab members and Professors for some months to focus on my life because I could see that they were helpless, and I would probably have to go back to Nigeria in about two months. I had only one option, GOD! Yeah! I needed to understand His plan; after all, he’s been involved all through the journey. Just some days before my birthday(2020), I got an offer to work in a biomedical company in China, something I’ve always desired but never really planned for. I was favored by God and saw how God puts desires in our hearts and gives us faith to believe He would bring it to pass. I was shocked as everything just played out like a movie.
When God comes through, you wouldn’t be able to take the glory at all because it will be so much more than you can ascribe to your power or prowess. I saw how he used total strangers to ensure I found a balance in a strange land. Fast forward to last week Thursday when I visited my Lab after a year. They were so happy to see me, and I almost felt like a King. I had gained some respect, and they probably had seen that GOD DOESN’T JOKE WITH HIS’ own. My senior colleague told me how much he envies me because he could see God all through this journey as against their way of belief of depending just on their power or the govt. I shared some words with him, and I trust God to let it grow until it produces the desired fruits in Jesus’ name (Please pray for him 🙏). Besides, my visit was to ensure I did not burn that bridge (relationship). Someone somewhere might need it someday.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
I just wanna encourage someone that GOD ALWAYS COMES THROUGH!
